NowSignage allows image and video to be played on Digital signs.
By simply uploading all major file types such as JPEGs & MP4s.
Unlike many digital signage CMS providers, NowSignage does not, and will not ever, restrict how much content a user can hold within their content library, and there will never be ANY additional charges made for additional storage.
So, whether you’re uploading simple JPEGs, or very large 4k video files, NowSignage allows image and video to be played on Digital signs and you can be confident that storage limits will never be reached.
We pride ourselves on having a user friendly interface, so the workflow process of adding content to your screens couldn’t be easier. Simply upload your content to your asset library, link your content to a timetable, select which screens you’d like to display this on and you’re good to go!
NowSignage is truly hardware agnostic, therefore, no matter what hardware you are running our app on, whether this is an Android Media Player or using our Browser Player, you can be certain that your uploaded assets will display in exactly the same manner.
To upload content in NowSignage, we have a very simple drag and drop feature, where you can select the files you wish to import and drop them in our file upload zone. Within a matter of seconds your files will be added to your asset library where they are securely stored to Amazon S3 servers.
Our platform is designed for multi asset management, so you can easily filter amongst hundreds of uploaded assets by the asset title, file type or orientation.
“We spend a lot of time & money to deliver new content, only to realise it’s out of date by the time it reaches our stores. NowSignage is a game changer to deliver content to our customers at a time and place that’s right for us.”
Patrick Cumiskey, Marketing Manager at NOVOMATIC Group
Our platform is used by some of the world’s biggest brands and as such we hold security and compliance in the highest regard. We pride ourselves on maintaining and implementing the correct and latest security processes across all aspects of our platform.
The platform infrastructure is hosted via Amazon’s AWS, in a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). This physically prevents any connections accessing core servers from the external internet, only allowing whitelisted access via the load balancer. This essentially mitigates the risk of a third party being able to exfiltrate data from our databases or asset library storage.
When uploading content to the cloud, NowSignage utilises come very clever technology called The Elastic Transcoder. In simple terms, it means you can upload a large file but it comes back to your library as a very small file, without affecting the quality. This means that all assets can be stored locally on your device, ensuring perfect playback even if your device loses connectivity!
Incorporating images effectively in digital signage involves several best practices. Firstly, ensure high resolution and quality images to maintain clarity and visual appeal on larger screens. Optimise images for the specific display size and format to prevent distortion or cropping issues. Consistency in branding, colour schemes, and messaging across images helps maintain a cohesive visual identity.
Additionally, consider the audience and context when selecting images. Tailoring visuals to resonate with the target demographic increases engagement. Implementing contrast and brightness adjustments can enhance visibility, especially in varying lighting conditions. Lastly, regularly update and refresh image content to keep the displays relevant and engaging for viewers.
Videos play a pivotal role in elevating engagement on digital signage. They possess the ability to convey complex messages efficiently, capturing audience attention more effectively than static images. Utilising videos allows for dynamic storytelling, enabling brands to evoke emotions and create memorable experiences for viewers.
To optimise video content, focus on compelling visuals, concise messaging, and clear storytelling. Implementing motion graphics, animation, and captivating transitions can enhance visual appeal and maintain audience interest. Ensure videos are formatted and optimised for seamless playback on the specific signage displays.
Personalization and relevance are key. Tailoring video content to the audience’s preferences and interests significantly boosts engagement. Incorporating user-generated content or interactive elements encourages participation and fosters a sense of connection with the displayed content.
Regularly updating video content keeps the displays fresh and encourages repeat engagement.
Several software tools cater to creating content specifically tailored for image and video-based digital signage. Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator, remains a popular choice due to its versatile capabilities in image editing and design. These tools enable professionals to create high-quality visuals optimised for various display sizes and formats.
For video content, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects offer comprehensive features for video editing, motion graphics, and animation. These tools empower users to craft engaging and visually appealing video content suitable for digital signage.
Other user-friendly options include Canva for easy-to-use graphic design templates and Animoto for creating quick, professional-looking videos using customizable templates and stock media.
For organisations seeking simplicity and scalability, digital signage platforms like NowSignage offer integrations to help seamlessly showcase content created.
