The governing bodies of the G-Cloud 12 framework, Government Digital Service and Crown Commercial Service, has announced that NowSignage has been accepted as an approved cloud software supplier to the public sector.
Taking effect from the 28th September 2020, the G-Cloud 12 framework agreement runs for an initial 12 months. G-Cloud is a UK Government initiative targeted at easing procurement by public-sector bodies requiring IT and AV services for off-the-shelf cloud computing solutions. The approved portal of suppliers, helps speed up the procurement process and provides a fair platform for suppliers to secure cloud service contracts with the UK public sector.
Since its inception, there has been over £6bn worth of sales through the framework with 44% of that spend awarded to SMEs. The majority of the business through G-Cloud has come from central government. This could be in part due to the government’s commitment to spending £1 in every £3 with small businesses.
NowSignage is now available via the G-Cloud 12 framework through ClearVC, a leading Audio Visual integrator in the UK. Submitted in partnership through a long and thorough selection process, only a few successful suppliers have been selected to enter the framework. The selection was based on the service functionality and the capability of the applicant to support and complement the service offering as well as cost effectiveness.
Nick Johnson, CEO at NowSignage, said: “G-Cloud has been established to provide a fair and efficient way for the public sector to procure innovative cloud-based technology. With all features provided out-of-the-box, NowSignage makes it very easy for the public sector to understand exactly what they get for their money. We even provide all our advanced features and integrations, such as Microsoft Power BI and Capacity Management at no charge. We look forward to working with ClearVC to deliver our leading digital signage software to meet the needs of the public sectors”.
The simplified application process creates a fairer and more competitive marketplace, allowing for buyers to directly award contracts. When buyers are evaluating shortlisted suppliers from the framework, they must do so under the following criteria in order to ensure the selection is based on best fit:
- Whole life cost, cost effectiveness, price and running costs.
- Technical merit and functional fit.
- After sales and service management.
- Non-functional characteristics
